“Benchamas 2” FSO

Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Limited (COTL) was notified that seawater entered the contracted Floating, Storage and Offloading vessel, “Benchamas 2” (BFSO2), during a maintenance operation at approximately 14.30 hrs. on March 13, 2023, sadly resulting in the fatality of a contractor crew member.

Currently, COTL and our contractor company, are making every effort to retrieve the body of the deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with the late contractor’s family, friends, and colleagues. The family of those involved have been notified and provided care and support at this time.

We have taken steps to remove all non-essential personnel from the vessel while the incident is being managed. The safety of all our personnel and the protection of the environment remains our top priorities. We have engaged and notified the relevant authorities and are working with all stakeholders.
