Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., in partnership with the National Science Museum (NSM), is expanding on the success of the previous Enjoy Science Careers exhibitions with “Enjoy Science Careers 3”. The Enjoy Science Careers project which has benefited over 700,000 youngsters in over 63 provinces since 2016 has recently joined forces with Robinson and launched “Enjoy Science Careers 3” at Robinson Srisamarn. The interactive exhibition will be featured as part of NSM’s science caravan, scheduled to visit 8 branches of Robinson Lifestyle malls across Thailand. Over 100,000 young people are expected to benefit from the project within this year.

This year, the project continues to encourage and inspire youngsters to take up careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive exhibitions that offer an opportunity for Thai youngsters all over the country to explore a new set of 10 interesting STEM professions in 5 different fields. These include geomatic engineer, Health, Environment and Safety specialist, robotic and mechatronic engineer, garbage designer and smart farmer. These STEM careers are expected to be in high demand as the need for skilled STEM professionals grows in Thailand in the near future.  The event features a range of fun career exploration activities and talk sessions with STEM role models. The project aims to foster a 21st century skilled workforce, considered a crucial foundation for the success of the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy.

Chayanin Hankansujarit, Chevron Thailand’s geomatic engineer, said “Geomatic engineers play an important role in the exploration and production of petroleum reserves – one of the key industries contributing to economic gains and wellbeing of people in the country. As considerable amount of time and investments are required to develop petroleum reserves and the Gulf of Thailand is known to be geologically complex, the exploration and production industry presents many challenges. These challenges require cutting edge technology and experts in various fields to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations. In addition to the oil and gas industry, geomatic engineers will play an even bigger role in the future, meeting the needs of other targeted industries such as aviation, logistics, modern automotive and biotech.”
