Chevron Thailand welcomes the release of the invitation for proposal for the Erawan and Bongkot gas fields.
Pairoj Kaweeyanun, Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production president, revealed that “Following the government’s announcement of the new terms and conditions for oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Thailand, we look forward to studying the details.”
“We are proud of our role in the development of Thailand’s energy resources, including the production of the first natural gas from the Gulf of Thailand at the Erawan field in 1981.
Chevron has been a safe and reliable steward of these resources on behalf of the Kingdom of Thailand, and is well positioned to continue to maximize resource recovery for the Kingdom through the application of our deep knowledge of the Gulf of Thailand and the newest technology from across our global operations. We would be honored to have the opportunity to continue in this role.”
He added that “We look forward to participating in the bidding process and demonstrating why Chevron can continue to be trusted to develop the Kingdom’s energy resources for the benefit of the Thai people.”
