DMF in collaboration with Chevron and partners hands over an ambulance to Koh Phangan Hospital

Wantaka Thitiphatorn, Safety and Environment Specialist, representing the Department of Mineral Fuels; Ajj Tularak, Vice President of Non-Operated Joint Venture at Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd.; Dr. Worawut Puttanaporkrattana, Director of Koh Phangan Hospital; and Noppadol Khaomali, Chief of Koh Phangan district, attended the handover ceremony of an ambulance to Koh Phangan Hospital, supporting the hospital’s patient rescue and services missions.

Recently, the Department of Mineral Fuels, under the Ministry of Energy, collaborated with Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Ltd. (COTL) and partners from Block B8/32, including Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO), PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Palang Sophon Company Limited, and KrisEnergy (Gulf of Thailand) Ltd. They presented a four-wheel ambulance equipped with essential patient care and emergency response equipment, valued at over 1.9 million baht, to support the hospital’s operations. During the handover ceremony, Wantaka Thitiphatorn, Safety and Environment Specialist, representing the Department of Mineral Fuels, presided over the event. This contribution aims to enhance the hospital’s emergency rescue capabilities, making medical services more accessible to patients and facilitating the transfer of critical patients to regional hospitals.


Ajj Tularak, Vice President of Non-Operated Joint Venture at Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., stated, “Koh Phangan Hospital plays a critical role in the health and well-being of residents and tourists in both Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. As a representative of COTL and its partners, I am pleased to hand over an ambulance to Koh Phangan Hospital, supporting the vital work of medical personnel. This contribution is endorsed by the Department of Mineral Fuels, Ministry of Energy. Chevron collaborated closely with the hospital to acquire a van, transform it into an ambulance, and equip it with essential medical equipment for emergency response. The ambulance, equipped with four-wheel drive, can effectively traverse steep and rough terrains to promptly reach patients.”


This 4x4 ambulance, valued at a total of 1,935,523 baht, can transport up to 5 passengers. It is designed and equipped in accordance with the requirements of the National Institute for Emergency Medicine. Additionally, it features a lighting and sound system that complies with relevant laws and regulations, and it has obtained the necessary licenses.
