“Chevron continually develops technologies and innovations to provide affordable, reliable and ever-cleaner energy solutions. As the world today is undergoing rapid transformation in various aspects, in the energy sector, we recognize two key transitions: Energy Transition and Technology Transition. In terms of Energy Transition, as energy demands continue to rise in tandem with economic growth, the diversification of energy sources has become increasingly crucial. This entails utilizing both traditional fossil fuels and new cleaner forms of energy. Therefore, energy businesses need to adapt and transform. For example, engineers have to acquire knowledge in carbon reduction in operations to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future besides their core technical expertise. In terms of Technology Transition, organizations need to embrace change with agility that fits to business opportunities and dare to challenge status quo. Always start with business problems that we want to resolve, so that technology adoption and transition will be at its most efficiency.
At Chevron, we constantly seek opportunities to leverage new technologies for enhancing work efficiency. We have embarked on an AI journey for decades using AI, data science, and machine learning. Now we have expanded to full spectrum including GenAI for more complex business opportunities for a greater business outcome. In addition, our priority focuses on building the capability of our workforce to stay abreast of global and technological advancements," said Porpich.
