news Chevron wins Thailand’s Office of Atoms for Peace Award 2023

Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. recently won The Office of Atoms for Peace Award 2023 with ‘Distinction’ in recognition of security practices for type-3 radiation generators, from the Thailand’s Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasit Lorterapong, (right) Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presented the award to Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., represented at the awarding ceremony by Noradesh Sayavesbumrung (left), Aviation Specialist, Nakhon Si Thammarat Aviation Center.


The Office of Atoms for Peace Award (OAP Award) is organized by the OAP to commemorate the organization’s 62nd anniversary. The objectives of the program are to raise awareness of, promote, and support sustainable practices for nuclear and radiation security on business premises in Thailand. Award classification in the category of radiation generators consists of two classes: Distinction and Merit. Receiving the award with ‘Distinction’ in security practices reflects Chevron’s commitment to placing top priority on safety and well-being of our employees and the community, while also protecting the environment throughout our business operations to support Thailand's energy security for more than 60 years.
