Chevron powers COVID-19 relief efforts through fuel card donation

Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Limited, Chevron (Thailand) Limited and Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC) recently presented CALTEX StarCards to Dr. Suksan Kittisupakorn, Director General of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Medical Service Department under the “Chevron powers COVID-19 relief efforts through fuel card donation” scheme to support their transportation mission during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is a joint effort among the three companies to contribute fuel cards worth a total of 2.35 million baht to 21 hospitals and medical facilities in 7 provinces across Thailand.

Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Limited, Chevron (Thailand) Limited and Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC) are committed to supporting Thailand on the path to recovery from the COVID-19 crisis under the “Chevron powers COVID-19 relief efforts through fuel card donation” scheme. All three companies together contributed CALTEX StarCards worth a total of 2.35 million baht to 21 hospitals and medical facilities in 7 provinces across Thailand including Bangkok, Chonburi, Rayong, Chumphon, Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani. The campaign offers much-needed fuel to support public health and medical front liners in their transportation mission during the COVID-19 pandemic. These missions include the patient transfer to hospitals, ambulance services, active case findings in communities, medical personnel and equipment transportation as well as vaccine center operations.

Chatit Huayhongtong, President of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Limited, said “Chevron is proud to work alongside both companies on this important project to ease the increasing financial burden faced by public health agencies coping with the COVID-19 crisis. The project is aimed at ensuring patients are able to access healthcare services more effectively during this difficult time. As part of this initiative, Chevron Thailand has presented fuel cards worth a total of 1.5 million baht to 14 public health and medical facilities including Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Medical Service Department, Chonburi Hospital, Provincial Health Offices in Surat Thani, Chumphon, Songkhla and Nakhon Si Thammarat, Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital, Thasala Hospital, Khanom Hospital, Sichon Hospital, Songkhla’s Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region 12, Songkhla Hospital, Singhanakorn Hospital and Hat Yai Hospital. During the past year, with a budget of over 26 million baht, Chevron has provided much-needed medical supplies and funds to frontline health authorities and Chevron is committed to continuing to provide assistance to accelerate the progress towards a recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

For this project, SPRC supports CALTEX StarCards worth 500,000 baht for 5 hospitals in Rayong comprising of Rayong hospital, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Memorial Hospital Rayong, Banchang hospital, Bankai hospital, and Klaeng hospital. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Thailand, SPRC has supported frontlines medical staff including public health authorities in the eastern region to tackle COVID-19 crisis such as medical tools and equipment, Powered Air Purifying Respirators, Personal Protective Equipment, Sanitizer hand gel, Drinking water, and etc. with the total donation amount of 8.6 million baht. In addition, SPRC has continuously expressed its supports and joined as another force to assist Thailand in overcoming this tough time.”
