Jay Johnson, executive vice president of upstream, Chevron Corporation, recently visited the Chevron Thailand-operated Erawan field to review preparations ahead of the bidding process for the expiring concession.

Johnson said “Erawan is Thailand’s first ever commercial gas field and a great example of Chevron’s long and successful partnership with the Kingdom of Thailand.

“We have been a trusted partner to the Kingdom for more than 55 years. Our talented Thai personnel and innovative technology have delivered safe, efficient and reliable energy to the nation for many decades.

“Today, gas from Erawan continues to play a key role in reducing Thailand's dependence on imported energy, and strengthening social and economic development. As Erawan enters a mature phase, we are well positioned to manage this challenge by leveraging our deep knowledge of the Gulf of Thailand and the newest technology and best practices from across our global operations.

“We welcome the opportunity to participate in the bidding process and demonstrate why the people of Thailand can continue to trust Chevron to develop the energy resources of the Kingdom.”
