Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Ltd. recently won the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Thailand Exploration and Production (E&P) Award 2016. Matt Hohnen, senior petroleum engineer, represented Chevron in receiving the award from Veerasak Pungrassamee, director general of the Department of Mineral Fuels. The prestigious award ceremony was also attended by Brad Middleton, Chevron Asia South managing director, as well as the Chevron management team and executives from companies in the field of petroleum exploration and production and services.

The SPE Thailand E&P Award 2016 was presented to the Chevron petroleum engineer team for their project on “Real Time Well Surveillance Project - Fiber Optic Surveillance” in recognition of its outstanding innovation in the development of new fiber optic technology to drive improved productivity from Gulf of Thailand reservoirs.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers Thailand Exploration and Production Awards, or SPE Thailand E&P Awards, allows petroleum engineers to showcase their ability to create new innovations, which can be applied to improve technologies used in the petroleum exploration and production industry. The contest also acts as a platform for the organization members to exchange useful knowledge and information. Winning this prestige award reflects the quality of Chevron’s workforce and its position as a technology and innovation leader who is committed to sustainably strengthening Thailand’s petroleum exploration and production business.
