news chevron donates more than two million baht to foundations participating in 'humankind’ program
Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. has donated a total of 2,212,840 baht to foundations participating in the ‘Chevron Humankind’ project. Chevron held a special “Chevron Humankind: Threefold Merit” program last December, in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The program involves inviting staff to donate to five charitable organizations under royal patronage, including the “two-for-one” scheme for Phra Dabos School, the Southern Border Province Phra Dabos School, the Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand, the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand, and the Siriraj Foundation, with all balances donated by staff matched 2:1 by Chevron.
Pairoj Kaweeyanun, president of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., was the appointed representative who presented the sponsorship of 913,000 baht to Assist. Prof. Pranya Sakiyalak, MD, board member and assistant secretary of the Siriraj Foundation to help under-privileged patients with hard-to-treat conditions requiring high-cost medical technology.
Chevron Humankind program has been running since July 2015 to encourage staff to participate in helping society by donating money to support various foundations or charitable organizations of their choice, and Chevron then donates the same amount donated by staff to that organization. So far Chevron has donated a total of more than 3,800,000 baht to various charitable organizations.
