Collaborating to strengthen One Health Education in Southeast Asia
In January 2021, Chevron partnered with Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) and other public agencies to increase health literacy and an understanding of the One Health approach, with the launch of a program called, “Strengthening One Health Education in Southeast Asia”.

Chevron and Chulalongkorn University’s “DOMVVI Vehicle” equipped with bio-detection dogs are gear up for the mission to screen COVID-19 cases in DDC’s communities
With rising COVID numbers and a spike in hospitalizations nationwide, it became clear that building herd immunity to block the pathway for the ongoing transmission of the disease and a timely mass vaccination drive in affected communities are the key tools needed in curbing the ongoing crisis. With this goal in mind, the “K9 Dogs Sniff COVID-19” project is introducing the “DOMVVI Vehicle” to support active COVID-19 screening in selected areas under the jurisdiction of under the Department of Disease Control. This follows research findings that show these sniffer dogs can bio-detect and distinguish COVID-19 patients with more than 96% accuracy.

Chevron supports Thailand in the fight against COVID-19
Since last year, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has triggered widespread impact on the Thai society and economy. Related agencies including public health authorities have been vigorously implementing measures to curb the pandemic. Joining forces with these efforts, Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. has made a series of contributions to support frontlines medical staff and related government agencies’ activities with an aim to assist Thailand on the path to recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

“The Power of Human Energy: A Journey Inspired by the King” project marked the 9th year of its journey while reaffirming its commitment to sharing the knowledge of the Late King’s Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy. As Thailand is battling COVID-19, this mission is important than ever as the public can apply the King’s wisdom to cope with negative impacts of COVID-19 as well as other crises in the future.

Chevron – Chula Successfully Train Sniffer Dogs to Detect Asymptomatic COVID-19 Patients with 94.8% Accuracy
Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Limited, in partnership with Chulalongkorn University, announced their success in training K9 dogs to bio-detect and screen COVID-19 patients, under the “K9 Dogs Sniff COVID-19” research project. As part of this research, six Labrador Retrievers were trained to distinguish both asymptomatic and symptomatic COVID-19 patients from healthy individuals with an accuracy of 94.8%. This research is considered a pioneer in training sniffer dogs for medical purposes in Thailand.
